13. Indonesian Culture

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 7:03 pm

Indonesian culture is extremely diverse. Indonesia is populated by
people of 250 different backgrounds speaking up to 700 different
languages and dialects. The Indonesians finally adopted one language
to be used throughout the country so that everyone could
communicate. Their lifestyles depend largely upon their group or
clan, as they prefer to conform. A great part of their culture is
their arts which include music, dance and plays performed with
puppets rather than human actors.

Indonesian culture has traditions quite different from those of the
west. Their way of life can be difficult at times but they have
become accustomed to it and it is a part of who they are. The
interesting part is that so many different people have come together
to make up this country. Indonesian art and lifestyle set them apart
from many other countries and make them unique. Their rich and
diverse culture is certainly something to be proud of.

Our culture is so rich and we are very proud of it. Many foreign
tourists admire us and some of them invest their money in our
country. But now we worry about our diversity because it commit
tribal dispute just like in Papua and Poso recently. We are so sad
to see these fightings. We proud with our country because it is
complete with everything but we are so sad about the condition of
our country like right now , fighting between different religion,
war in poso, and bad happening in papua about freeport problem and
now we just wanna indonesia can live with peacefully forever.
Indonesia is a big country that have rich culture. So it’s depend on
the government and the people how to manage the source. Indonesia
have many kind culture, but we must carefull about kind culture,
because it can also make broken harmonic. So with difference culture
we much another respect and friendly with the kind culture, with the
result that we can defend the Indonesian culture and we also
rightfully proud be citizen of indonesia. Our country has so many
culture which each culture different from the others and has its
unique identity. Our rich culture attract foreign people come to
Indonesia to study about our culture or some people just want to
know how is our culture. But, at this moment we feel afraid that our
culture will be extinct or ,worst, gone from Indonesia because many
of young generations of Indonesia don’t interest to study about
their culture. They prefer to study foreign culture than Indonesia
culture. If the government don’t beware with this situation, it’s
possible that our culture will be disappear from our country and
Indonesia won’t has its unique identity anymore. It’s also possible
in the future we will find our culture is recognize in other
countries, maybe country in Europe, America, or other continents
because their people have been studied about our culture. Are we as
Indonesian people like if it’s happen? Just ourselves can answer it.
Indonesia has so many kind of culture and that’s makes we proud our
country. Because Indonesia has so many culture that makes other
people from the other country want to study about our culture. Now
let’s we conserve our culture.

11. Kuta Beach

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 6:50 pm

Kuta, first discovered by the surfers and hippies of the 60’s has now
become known around the world for its magnificent sunsets, surf beach
and nightlife. Once a sleepy fishing village it has now been
transformed into the center of all the Bali action.Whether you are
looking for leather, fashion, handicrafts, jewellery, shoes, music
tapes or CD’s, paintings or exotic wood carvings don’t forget to
bargin.

Kuta with its markets, street vendors, night clubs, hotels,
restaurants, bars and plenty of entertainment is full of non stop
action. If finding a bargain to bring home or you just want to relax
on the beach or perhaps even party till you drop then you’ll find Kuta
is everything and more.

Although Bali is one of destination for tourist in the world, Culture
for the Bali’s people not change or transformed. Bali’s people stays
does their culture. Because many tourists not describe east of
culture, the impact is many people in Indonesia follow their life
style.

After was happened bomb explosion, Bali become not crowded. Tourist
was afraid come to Bali. But government has some efforts such as
catching the bombers, doing socializations to many countries if Bali
is safe. And Bali’s people make event about their culture so they
are invite many tourists came to Bali again indirectly.

10. AVIAN FLU

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 5:42 pm

Avian Flu, also known as bird flu, an infectious disease of wild and
domestic birds, caused by a range of viruses known as Type A influenza
viruses. Variants of avian influenza viruses have also infected humans
and a number of other mammals.

Avian influenza was not known to directly infect humans until 1997,
when an outbreak in Hong Kong, China, caused by infected poultry,
sickened 18 people, killing 6 of them. Death was caused by pneumonia
or other respiratory ailments, kidney failure, or related
complications. Symptoms of avian flu resemble those of other
influenzas: fever, cough, sore throat, and muscle aches. Although
humans have a degree of immunity to the influenza subtypes that
circulate during the winter flu season, the human immune system is
unaccustomed to recognizing and fighting off avian influenza. This
makes the avian viral strains all the more dangerous. After the 1997
Hong Kong episode, other outbreaks of avian influenza followed,
including cases in at least ten Asian countries beginning in 2003,
resulting in at least 20 deaths.

Currently, the most effective means of fighting avian influenza is the
destruction of infected birds or those at risk of infection, often
millions at a time when outbreaks occur. Scientists are also pursuing
new antiviral compounds and vaccines to protect people. Public health
officials say there is no danger to the public from eating poultry or
eggs as long as they are well cooked.

7. Juice Therapy as Healing Alternatives

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 5:39 pm

Foods function as builder body health. Cause that we need
consumed food which could fulfill many live necessities and as
elements which make body can move and give a live, as well as operate
all of process in body works well. Except that, physical exercise,
mineral water, sunlight, rest, and recreation in enough are very
important for build healthy body. Fresh foods like vegetable juice and
fruit juice are proof success prohibit aging and kept body fresh.

Elements which obtained from fresh food like vegetable and fruit
are very important for build red blood cells and other body cells
caused in insides stored vitamin, mineral, and enzyme. At advanced
age, fresh and nature food very important cause can easily and quickly
absorbed by body, with the result that build blood cells process and
body cells process be able endured. Nutrient essence can get by body
if selection fruit and vegetable have variation. Nutrient content can
be optimized with consumption fruit juice and vegetable juice in a
balanced manner and routine.

Fruit juice and vegetable juice can capable purify blood and
carry out poison elements that droved in body cells. Fruits and
vegetables are the highest contributor vitamin necessity for body
minerals. Bircher Banner, a famous doctor from Swiss is convinced
about at the moment bestowal drugs and injection failed healing
disease, actually assembling correct food pattern with consumption
vegetable juice and fruit juice can give new hope for healthy live. In
fact, doctor Bircher open nature treatment center in Zurich, Swiss
that used vegetable juice and fruit juice as one of his therapy.

Many fruits which good for our body and contain many vitamins.
The kind of fruits are apple, star fruit, pineapple, guava, avocado,
orange, melon, water melon, papaya, carrot, cucumber, tomato, cabbage,
spinach, celery, beet. Eat fruits and vegetable everyday is good for
our health.

Some fruits also not very well for our health like durian and
mangoes, because it contains many fats. Especially durian, it not good
for people who’s have stroke, cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
Everything which is excessive is not good for our body health. We
should know when we need to consume fruits. It depends on with our
body condition. We suggest consuming fruits or vegetable juice every
day to keep our body health.

If some people don’t like fruits and vegetables and not have time
to do exercise, many alternatives beside consume fruits and vegetable
like other health food. For people who don’t have time to do exercise,
with walking it’s an exercise form. But we don’t discuss about it in
this article.

Make our lifestyle is healthy lifestyle that is with consume
fresh and health food like vegetable, fruits, and don’t eat junk food.
If people get illness, they go to doctor and consume medicine. But
fruits and vegetables juice very useful to support healing the
illness. In this article has explicit if the topic is juice as
alternative healing. So fruits and vegetables juice just one of many
alternatives to heal the disease.

6. The World Drug Situation in Perspective

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 5:37 pm

The World Drug Report tries to provide a comprehensive
and up-to-date picture of the world drug situation. This
is essential to assess the performance of drug control
interventions and to guide policy-making. While data in
this report is, in many cases, provided for at least the last
ten years, most of its analysis emphasizes the most
recent and most topical developments. Monitoring current
developments is essential but it is also important to
take a longer-term view to assess the performance of the
multilateral drug control system.
Drug have many effected the world. Some 200 million people or 5 per
cent of the world’s
population aged between 15 and 64 years have used
drugs at least once in the previous 12 months. The
global estimate of drug users thus remains the same as
the estimate published in the 2005 World Drug Report.
Increases in some drug categories (cannabis and ecstasy)
were offset by some declines in others and by an
observed tendency towards poly-drug abuse. However,
changes in the estimates must be interpreted with caution
because they not only reflect actual changes in the
number of drug users but, to an unknown and probably
large extent, changes in data collection and reporting
methods as well.
world may have not be comfortable if this problem could not be solved
, there is to much victim from this problem.
can we make a better world with out the drugs on our environment.

4. Internet Crime

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 5:34 pm

Today issues of security on internet make people of the world
become panic. They don’t feel comfort to do some transaction by use
media Internet. Do you know why ? because some people called hackers
and crackers can see the traffic on internet and they can easily to
take, edit and see your transaction and your personal data.
This cases makes security software vendor try hard to stop the
crimes, but why today many internet crimes? . thats old question but
we will never know the answer. Because when new technology has been
applicate in that time some bug of new technology it self will be
found. The main problem really on the application or technology it
self because there is no perfect 100% technology on the world, it can
be caused wrong logic of the programmers. And we thing this problem
will never die until end of the world.
Many reason why they do this crime, one of the reason is likes a
competition, for show his or her ability to underground community if
he can hack the newest security technology so he will get high
respect from underground community. so how to stop it, really we
can’t stop it but I have sollution to decrease the effect by use the
newest update software, and also don’t forget to use the best
firewall and antivirus. And the most important be carefull to send
private data, always enscrypt it. Beside that to catch the internet
criminal, our country must have cyber law, high technology and smart
human resource to detect the criminal activity, so can catced easily
to decrease the frequency of internet crime.

2. Education and Basic Knowledge HIV/AIDS

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 5:17 pm

HIV is a virus. Some viruses, such as the ones that cause the
common cold or the flu, stay in the body only for a few days. Some
viruses, such as HIV, never go away. When a person becomes infected
with HIV, that person becomes "HIV positive" and will always be HIV
positive.

AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and is caused
by HIV. The names HIV and AIDS can be confusing because both terms
describe the same disease. Think of AIDS as advanced HIV disease.

HIV is a virus that infects people by getting inside their blood
cells. To avoid getting HIV, you must prevent the blood, semen,
vaginal fluids, or breast milk of someone who is infected from
entering your body through your mouth, vagina, anus, tip of your
penis, or breaks in your skin

Globally, 39.4 million adults and children were living with HIV/
AIDS at the end of 2004. Of them, more than 95% were living in low-
and middle-income countries.

In 2004, 4.9 million people were newly infected with HIV, and there
were 3.1 million adult and child deaths due to HIV/AIDS. Almost 50%
of newly infected adults were women. Since the beginning of the
epidemic, there have been more than 20 million AIDS deaths.

The HIV or AIDS infected the human first in 1969 and The most
country that have infected is Africa sub-Sahara

Protecting yourself against HIV is about knowledge. Understanding
how you get (and avoid getting) HIV, and knowing yourself and your
partner (or partners), are key to protecting yourself against HIV.

Many people who "know better" engage in risky activities. The
reasons for this are numerous and normal: you could be afraid to
insist that your partner use a condom; you could make false
assumptions about partners (they seem too young, old, healthy-
looking, or nice to be HIV positive); you might be a drinker or
recreational drug user who does things while under the influence that
you wouldn’t otherwise consider. The hardest part of protecting
yourself can be learning how to apply what you know to your life and
behavior.

Be safe and smart with your decisions. Reduce your risk for HIV by
avoiding activities that put you at risk and only practicing safer
sex. Don’t be afraid to get tested or to insist that your partner get
tested; knowing your HIV status and that of your partner (or
partners) will help you make more informed decisions.

12. BOROBUDUR TEMPLE

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 5:08 pm

The Borobudur Temple is considered as one of the seven wonders of the
world. This temple is located at Borobudur District, South of
Magelang, Central Java.
Based on the inscription dated 842 AD, Casparis suggested that
Borobudur was one time a place for praying. The inscription stated a
phrase such as: "Kawulan i Bhumi Sambhara". Kawulan means the origin
of holiness, "bhumi sambhara" is a name of a place in Borobudur. Paul
Mus stated that Borobudur Temple had the structure of stupa (conical
form) with double expression. As a whole, the Borobudur Temple was an
open-flat stupa, but on the other hand, the temple expressed the idea
of a "closed world". The latter expression could be felt when one is
already inside the temple. Whenever person is inside the temple, his
or her view will be limited to high walls full on relieves, the
verandah is always squared in such a way that one could not see other
parts of the temple, even in a same floor. The same feeling happened
if one stood on arupadhatu round platform, he or she will have a wider
view only on that level, but are not able to see the lower level nor
the upper level like the one on rupadhatu and kamandhatu. It could be
said that Borobudur is a symbol of cosmic mountain covered by the sky
roof, a specific world that could be reached through isolated alleys
as stages. The closed structural design of the temple expressed the
concept of a closed world, not just a technical reasons as had been
suggested by other experts ( Daud AT, 1987)
Borobudur was built by Sanmaratungga in the 8th century, and belongs
to Buddha Mahayana. Borobudur was revealed by Sir Thomas Stanford
Raffles in 1814. The temple was found in ruined condition and was
buried.
The overall height was 42 meters, but was only 34.5 meters after
restoration, and had the dimension of 123 x 123 meters (15,129 square
meters). There were 10 floors. The first floor up to the sixth floor
was square form, the seventh to the tenth floor were round form.
Borobudur is facing to the East with a total of 1460 panels (2 meters
wide each). Total size of the temple walls was 2500 square meters,
full of relief. The total number of panels with relief was 1212.
According to investigations, the total number of Buddha statue was 504
including the intact and damaged statues. The temple undergone
restoration from 1905 to 1910, and the last restoration was done in
1973 to 1983. It is true that the cost for maintain the temple must be very expensive. Because everyone has known that Borobudur doesn’t just a little temple, but the giant one. It is one of Seven Wonders of the World, so who have duty to maintain are all the people in the world through United Nation Organization, social and culture sector, UNESCO. By cooperate between UNESCO and central until regional government, I am sure that the biggest and one of social heritage in the world will be awakened. One important thing that all the people in Indonesia must love with their richness. Borobudur will be exist until the next century become the attract one if the people keep to take care an always love with their culture.

9. TDMA & CDMA

Filed under: Presentation Topic by Students - Administrator @ 5:07 pm

We have considered how a mobile phone can send and receive calls at
the same time (via an uplink and a downlink). Now we will examine how
many users can be multiplexed into the same channel (i.e., share the
channel) without getting interference from other users, a capability
called multiple access. For 3G technology, there are basically two
competing technologies to achieve multiple access: TDMA and CDMA.

TDMA is Time Division Multiple Access. It works by dividing a single
radio frequency into many small time slots. Each caller is assigned a
specific time slot for transmission. Again, because of the rapid
switching, each caller has the impression of having exclusive use of
the channel.

Time division multiple access (TDMA) is a channel access method for
shared medium (usually radio) networks. It allows several users to
share the same frequency channel by dividing the signal into
different timeslots. The users transmit in rapid succession, one
after the other, each using his own timeslot. This allows multiple
stations to share the same transmission medium (e.g. radio frequency
channel) while using only the part of its bandwidth they require.
TDMA is used in the digital 2G cellular systems such as Global System
for Mobile Communications (GSM), IS-136, Personal Digital Cellular
(PDC) and iDEN, and in the Digital Enhanced Cordless
Telecommunications (DECT) standard for portable phones. It is also
used extensively in satellite systems, and combat-net radio systems.
For usage of Dynamic TDMA packet mode communication, see below.

TDMA is a type of Time-division multiplexing, with the special point
that instead of having one transmitter connected to one receiver,
there are multiple transmitters. In the case of the uplink from a
mobile phone to a base station this becomes particularly difficult
because the mobile phone can move around and vary the timing advance
required to make its transmission match the gap in transmission from
its peers.

CDMA is Code Division Multiple Access. CDMA works by giving each user
a unique code. The signals from all the users can then be spread over
a wide frequency band. The transmitting frequency for any one user is
not fixed but is allowed to vary within the limits of the band. The
receiver has knowledge of the sender’s unique code, and is therefore
able to extract the correct signal no matter what the frequency.

Code division multiple access (CDMA) is a form of multiplexing (not a
modulation scheme) and a method of multiple access that does not
divide up the channel by time (as in TDMA), or frequency (as in
FDMA), but instead encodes data with a special code associated with
each channel and uses the constructive interference properties of the
special codes to perform the multiplexing. CDMA also refers to
digital cellular telephony systems that make use of this multiple
access scheme, such as those pioneered by Qualcomm, and W-CDMA by the
International Telecommunication Union or ITU.

CDMA has since been used in many communications systems, including
the Global Positioning System (GPS) and in the OmniTRACS satellite
system for transportation logistics.

This technique of spreading a signal over a wide frequency band is
known as spread spectrum. The advantage of spread spectrum is that it
is resistant to interference - if a source of interference blocks one
frequency, the signal can still get through on another frequency.
Spread spectrum signals are therefore difficult to jam, and it is not
surprising that this technology was developed for military uses.

Finally, let’s consider another robust technology originally
developed by the military which is finding application with 3G:
packet switching.

8. HIV and AIDS

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 5:05 pm

AIDS has now surpassed the Black Death on its course to become the
worst pandemic in human history. At the end of 2004, 20 million people
had been killed by it, and twice that number are currently infected
with HIV. Barring a medical breakthrough, it could claim the lives of
some 60 million people by 2015. AIDS exerts a terrible toll on
societies, crippling their economies, decimating their labour forces
and orphaning their children.

Nine out of 10 people living with HIV are in the developing world; 60
to 70% of those are in Sub-Saharan Africa. But the disease is
spreading in every region, with fierce epidemics threatening to tear
through countries such as India, China, Russia and the islands of the
Caribbean. The statistics are sobering - in some Southern African
towns 44% of pregnant women are HIV positive, in Botswana 37% of
people carry the virus.

HIV /AIDS virus now, have been known by many people. And because of
that, we can take the good effect of this situation. The people known
this virus can’t heal by any medicine, and
this virus very easy infect to every human in the world. So, prevent
yourself from this virus with various way, for example :
- take condom if you want to get sex
- don’t do sex before you married
- please loyal with your couple
- etc.
